About Stage III Breast Cancer
Cancerous tumors, by their nature, will spread as far as they can before they are stopped. Stage III breast cancer has a bigger presence in the breast and the tissues around it. Stage III breast cancer is divided into Stage IIIA, characterized by cancer in the underarm lymph nodes and tissue; and Stage IIIB, where the tumor has moved into the chest wall, and the chest muscle and/or lymph nodes in the chest are involved. Breast-saving treatments may no longer be an option for Stage III cancer. Mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiation, or some combination, will likely be recommended to eradicate Stage III cancer.
