Drug Therapy as a Treatment for Breast Cancer
Drugs are an integral part of breast cancer treatment. Sometimes medications are used without surgery, but in most cases you will take breast cancer drugs in conjunction with and following other treatments. Drugs are designed to stop cancer cells from reproducing and spreading. Tamoxifen is the most common drug used in breast cancer treatment. Breast cancer drugs can increase the risk of other cancers, so be sure to follow your doctor's instructions exactly, get additional screening tests as advised, and report anything unusual to your doctor.
